Fab Nobs Theatre Inc is a non-for profit organisation, which is dedicated to producing three major musical theatre productions a year.Based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Fab Nobs is known for not only presenting high quality and diverse productions, but for its unique theatrical space and strong ties with community involvement.
Fab Nobs formed in 2003, staged its first production A Slice of Saturday Night in a converted factory on Burgess Road, Bayswater. In 2008 Fab Nobs changed location to 33 Industry Place, Bayswater, where they transformed “the factory” into a theatrical space ideal for diverse productions.
The cabaret like atmosphere provides the perfect setting to stage unique concerts and productions that range from the classics: Little Shop of Horrors, A Little Night Music and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, to the contemporary: Next to Normal, The Drowsy Chaperone and Avenue Q, as well as the quirky Zombie Prom, Return to the Forbidden Planet and tick, tick, BOOM, just to name a few.
Fab Nobs is dedicated to involving all members of the community, whether it is to be on the stage or behind the scenes. Everyone is welcome. Fab Nobs are also devoted to giving back to the community, having made donations to many charities. Students have also had the opportunity to experience the ‘theatre world’ through a ‘Work Experience’ program, which has been highly regarded within the community.
